Proactive Leadership:
The Key to Long-Term Success

When you’re in the Storm, it’s all too easy to become reactive – responding to the latest urgent crisis or request. This makes it impossible to display true leadership – taking a proactive, deliberate approach.

Being “busy” is not the same as being productive. As a leader, it’s your mission to chart a long-term course for your organization, not to answer emails and respond to each momentary distraction. Set aside time each day to step away from the Storm and focus on strategic goals. Even if your schedule is totally booked, go over your to-do list, and prioritize tasks that are key to your long-term success.
